Bismillāh wal-ḥamdulillāh,
To our brothers and sisters from Ahlus-Sunnah, near and far: as-salāmu ʿalaykum wa raḥmatullāhi wa barakātuh.
The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever does not thank the people has not thanked Allāh.” (Abū Dāwūd)
We begin by thanking Allāh, for it is by His aid and His enabling alone that anything was achieved, and then we thank you — every one of you who gave. By the tawfīq of Allāh first, and then through your support, the Markaz Rabīʿ appeal has been completed in full. May Allāh reward you with much good, accept it from you all, and build for you houses in Paradise. Āmīn!
What Took Place
We mention some of what took place only so that Allāh’s favour upon us is acknowledged. We saw brothers and sisters give so that a house of Allāh could be built, by His Permission, where the prayer will be established, the Qurʾān will be recited, and beneficial knowledge will be taught for years to come, by His Will and His Mercy. The giving came in many forms:
- Some brothers stepped forward with matching challenges — among them pledges of £20,000 and £1,000 — which encouraged many others to give, while our sisters and families gave alongside them.
- Many took the appeal to their own relatives and friends and gathered pledges. Some groups pooled together to raise £700 between them, and more than a few went past their own targets.
- Payday campaigns brought their own surge, with brothers and sisters pledging £100 each and clearing those targets quickly.
- Parents encouraged their children to give, and the children of our Saturday School and Qurʾān School took part, learning the worth of ṣadaqah whilst they are young.
- One family from our Weekend School brought in a full savings box of coins, and others filled collection boxes of their own.
We also thank our noble brothers and sisters at Markaz Muʿādh (Slough), Markaz us-Sunnah (Alperton), Masjid us-Sunnah (Cranford), Athariyyah & Masjid Bin Bāz (London), Masjid us-Sunnah (Birmingham), Masjid Al-Hudā (Bolton), and Masjid Abī Hurayrah (Stoke) for supporting the appeal through collections and fundraising. Their support played no small part in bringing this to completion — in just a few weeks! When the people of the Sunnah cooperate upon good, Allāh grants ease.
Our Thanks
To everyone who donated, who shared the appeal, who encouraged others, who organised a collection, or who simply raised their hands in duʿāʾ — we ask Allāh to reward you. To those who gave from their savings, their salaries, their children’s pockets, and even their coin boxes — your reward is with Allāh, and He is the Best of those who reward! And to the fundraisers, the organisers, the schools, the families, and all our brothers and sisters across the various masājid who stood with us: may Allāh bless you, accept your efforts, and grant you and your families the best of this life and the next.
The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever builds a masjid for Allāh, Allāh will build for him a house in Paradise.” (Bukhārī & Muslim)
We ask Allāh to make this appeal from the best of our deeds, to accept every contribution as ongoing charity (ṣadaqah jāriyah), and to unite us all upon Tawḥīd and the Sunnah until we meet Him.
